So if I want to use a a user defined source I should change the beam definition inside the source.f or how?

It doesn't work since you have added also a "SOURCE" card
The SOURCE card tells the code to call the user routine source.f
and not the predefined one with the cards.
Comment the SOURCE and it will work.
