Re: [fluka-discuss]: Why "R-phi-Z" and "Region" didn't get same results in USRBIN?

                Hi Vasilis,
Thanks for your help. I see, but I still don’t know, if I just want to get the dose of the whole region, I should multiple the results of the region card by the volume of the region or the R-Phi-Z card?
Thanks a lot!

Hi Haoyu,

please note that the USRBIN by region is not normalized by the volume of the region
as it is the case of the R-Phi-Z therefore you get this different result.

Hi Vasilis,

Thanks for your help. You're right. I have a mistake. But even this, the layer1 region should be twice as the R-Phi-Z in 81 USRBIN and layer2 should be twice as 82 USRBIN, but actually, even in the wrong input file(81 USRBIN from 0 to 6.25 while layer1 region
from -6.25 to 6.25), the results of 81 USRBIN is higher than layer1.

I also correct the range, and both 81 and 82 USRBIN are almost twice than layer1 and layer2 region.

I have attached the lis file, so you can see it without running and waiting(51 for layer1 region, 52 for layer2 region, 81 and 82 for R-Phi-Z). And I still get confused by these results.

Thanks a lot!

Regards,

Haoyu

Hi Haoyu

isn't it normal to be half your R-Phi-Z is half of the Z of the region
e.g your layer1 region extends from -6.25 to 6.2 in Z
while your 81 USRBIN is from 0 to 6.25

The same for 82

Cheers
Vasilis

Dear FLUKA Experts,

I'm simulating the detector backgrounds. The detector is a cylinder with 0.005cm in thickness and 6.25 cm in length and made by silicon. Some electrons/positrons generate by a source file would pass the detector, and I want to get the DOSE in the detector.
So I used a USRBIN card with "Region" mode and the other with "R-phi-Z" mode, both particle types was "DOSE". And the last card, I set only 1 bin in R,Phi and Z. So, to my knowledge, these two cards should get the same result. But not, the second one is almost
2 times than the first one. What's the reason for this?

The input file and the source file have been attached.

Any help or comment would be appreciated.

Regards,

Haoyu
