[fluka-discuss]: Energy fluence distributions

Dear FLUKA experts,

I am trying to score energy fluence distributions of a pencil-like 16 MeV proton beam at various depths in water using USRBDX; namely at the depth of the 40% (R40), 60% (R60), 80% (R80), Bragg peak (BP), distal 80% (distal R80), distal 60% (distal R60) and distal 40% (distal R40) dose level. However, the energy distributions at the BP, distal R80, distal R60 and distal R40 have an "upswing" for energies very close to 0. Why is that so, and why do they not tend to 0 fluence? Is this a result due to low proton fluence at depths beyond the BP such that the statistical fluctuations are large?

With Regards,
Delmon
