Hi,

You could have something like this:

* Polyethylene (mat. 29): H (material 3) and C (material 6)
MATERIAL 0.0 0.0 0.94 POLY-CH2
COMPOUND 2. HYDROGEN 1. CARBON POLY-CH2
* * 5% borated poly
MATERIAL 0.0 0.0 1.08 0.0BPOLYETH
COMPOUND -0.95 POLY-CH2 -0.050 BORON BPOLYETH

Hi Mario,

I have created a 2 material cards named borated with rho= 1.08 and another for boron and also 2 compound cards. I am assuming the first compound card is the CH2(1 carbon and 2 hydrogen atoms) and the second is boron and the created Ch2? Also how do you input the percentage for each? Apologies as I am aware this is a simple problem but it is confusing me.

Kind regards,
Jason.

Hi Jason,

Yes, you can first create a CH2 compound, then another compound with e.g. 95%CH2 and 5%BORON at an approximate density of 1.08 g/cm3.

Subject: [fluka-discuss]: borated polyethylene material

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to simulate borated polyethylene in FLUKA. However, I cant find it in the materials library. Would it be possible to create this material by combining boron and polyethylene in FLUKA?

Thanks a lot.

Kind Regards,

Jason.
