Dear Pratip,

Your DETECT card is providing the spectrum of deposited energy while your USRBDXs score fluence vs energy distribution of particles entering the detector.
For instance, electrons in the MeV range (your USRBDX) will deposit only 0.09 MeV in your 0.03 cm thick Si detector (according to NIST). This energy value corresponds to the peak in your DETECT card.

As for the problem mentioned with the second USRBDX, your non-zero values are starting at line 263. This is because of the 260 neutron energy groups which are automatically added to the requested structure.

Regarding your scoring query, you will have to employ user-routines. You might want to take advantage of the LTRACK variable [common (TRACKR)] that records the generation number of a particle.

Also, given the small layers in your geometry it would be better to use PRECISIOn as DEFAULT.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Ricardo

Forwarding my earlier query in case it got overlooked.

Dear FLUKA Experts,

I am trying to score the energy deposition and fluence in the active
region of a silicon photodiode for a Ru-106 beta source.

SOURCE:

I have used ISOTOPE as the BEAM, delta(phi) = isotropic, Z = 44 and A =
106 in HI-PROPE, and source.f for geometry of the source.

1 RADDECAY card in Semi-Analogue is used. 3 DCYSCORE cards are used in
Semi-Analogue mode, 1 for USRBIN and 2 for USRBDX.

CUTOFF:

PROD-CUT of 1 keV for electron-positron and gamma is set for all materials
via EMFCUT card. Transport cutoff of same value is set for the active
region of the photodiode via EMFCUT card.

SCORING:

1. 1 DETECT card has been used for active region of the photodiode. This
gives the energy spectrum.

2. 1 USRBIN card has been used for active region of the photodiode with
Part = ENERGY. This gives the mean energy deposition per decay.

3. 2 USRBDX cards have been used with one-way fluence scoring for LinE,
Lin(omega) with Ebins = 1024 and Part = ELECTRON and ENERGY, respectively.

RESULT:

1. In USRBDX with Part = ELECTRON, I get nonzero values in the third
column of the tab.lis file. If I plot this I get the electron fluence vs
energy plot peaking at a different value of energy than that of the energy
spectrum obtained using DETECT. I can't understand why this is happening.

2. In USRBDX with Part = ENERGY, I get only zero values in the third
column of the tab.lis file. Why this is happening although I have used a
DCYSCORE card for this USRBDX?

FURTHER QUERIES:

1. I want to score the beta fluence as well as the secondary electrons
fluence (separately) as functions of energy at all the regions, e.g. after
the emission from the source, after the epoxy layer and after each
subsequent layer. Please suggest how to score these.

2. I have attached the input file, the source.f file, the DETECT output
file, the USRBIN output file, and the 2 USRBDX output files. Please check
them and point out if there is any mistake.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
