Fluka2025.1.0, a major iteration of the 4th generation of the FLUKA code, is
now available on the official FLUKA web site (www.fluka.org).

This release represents a big step forward for FLUKA, it contains several
important new features and changes.
In the following a short list of the main new features (please look at the
release notes and the (ASCII) manual for further details):
- Fully correlated delayed neutron production;
- Pointwise fission neutron multiplicity distributions;
- Cosmic Ray spectra according to the Global Spline Fit (GSF) model;
- The latest International Geomagnetic Reference Field model 14 (November
2024);
- The Athermal ReCombination (arc) model for DPA calculations;
- Different choices of partition functions and screening radii for DPA
and NIEL calculations;
- User defined neutron reflection;
- Inverse Compton electron/positron interactions on light fields;
- Synchrotron radiation emission along particle trajectories;
- Particle generation and/or energy threshold based biasing;
- Generic tetrahedron, TET, body in the geometry;
- Runge-Kutta-Gill tracking parameters re-organization;
- Further improvements in the modeling of photonuclear interactions
above ~100 MeV;
- GDR cross section for 56Fe updated;
- Further source code reorganization. All the FLUKA code is now under
IMPLICIT NONE;
- The geocrs routine has been replaced by the geodrr one (same arguments
and usage), so please update possible personal source.f routines;
- All templates for the user routines are now under IMPLICIT NONE;
- A few rare bugs have been fixed.
At the same time a new version of flair, python3 version only#, supporting
the new features is also available on the web site. Those python3 compatible
files are called flair...2.3-0fpy3..., see www.fluka.org/flair/download.html,
let us know if there are problems.
Due to the amount of changes/additions, and despite the extensive testing
carried out by the FLUKA collaboration members, rare bugs cannot be
excluded. If you experience a crash, or you feel something is incorrect
when running fluka2025.1, please report the issue at fluka-discuss_at_fluka.org.
All users are urged to update to this release. As usual, assistance
will be provided only for the latest release/respin.
