Dear FLUKA experts
I read all the messages in the archive about the AUXSCORE card.
Especially the reply of Alfredo
http://www.fluka.org/web_archive/earchive/new-fluka-discuss/2362.html
Unfortunately I still don't understand completely what happens by
filtering the estimators for an individual particle using an AUXSCORE
card.
I understand the principle of indirectly ionizing radiation and the
consequences for dose deposition. I am interested in what FLUKA exactly
does when filtering for instance dose for a specific particle.
Alfredo said: "In FLUKA, energy is "deposited by photons" when the
photon energy becomes lower than the photon transport threshold". It is
clear to me, that there is a transportation cutoff and that the energy
is deposited on that spot. But are these the only contributions that are
scored when filtering dose for a specific particle (in this case
photons) with the AUXSCORE card?
Or from another point of view, I want to score the dose which is induced
by a specific type of particle in a mixed irradiation field including
the dose deposited by secondary particles. For instance in a mixed field
of photons and neutrons I want to score the dose which is induced by
neutrons and all the secondary particles arising from neutron
interactions. Is this possible and how can I achieve that?
Thank you very much for your help!
Regards,
Roger Haeig
