Hi Zhiyi
I don't use gplevbin as a command, but you can find the fortran code and executable in the flutil/ directory. Just run the executable and you will be prompted for input parameters, it seems to be quite straightforward in case you need to develop your own script.
Good luck
Joachim

Hi Joachim,
On the output terminal I did not find the command lines about how gplevbin is used to generate 1D or 2D projection data files. I am using the latest version of FLUKA (32bit) and FLAIR. Could you give an example how to use the command "gplevbin" in a terminal? Sometime it is handy to write a script to generate a lot of plots.
Thanks,
Zhiyi.

Hi Zhiyi
In fact this information is available in the chapter 2 of the manual (you don't need to read the entire manual) : "2 A FLUKA beginner's guide" which summarizes the main things to know to run and access results of a FLUKA problem...
2.2.11 Initialisation of the random number sequence
The random number sequence used in a run is initialised by default by the seeds contained in file random.dat provided with the code. To calculate the statistical error of the results, it is necessary to perform other independent runs (at least 4 or 5), each with a different independent initialisation, using the seeds written by the program at the end of each run. The rfluka script provided with the code on UNIX and LINUX platforms takes care of this task, provided the following card is issued in the input file:

Hi Joachim,
Thank you so much for your reply.
You are right, the file that I provided is only generated in one single run. It is good to know the error calculation is done only for multi-run/cycles (although this does not make sense to me). It will be great if this is documented somewhere easy to find.
Thanks,
Zhiyi.

Hi
I have converted your file (
http://trshare.triumf.ca/~zhiyil/shld_in_sand001_fort.22<
http://trshare.triumf.ca/%7Ezhiyil/shld_in_sand001_fort.22>) to Ascii using the flutil/usbrea utility. If I am not mistaken the file at the following location is the results of one single FLUKA run and contains the 125x250x100 value only (it would have a block with value and errors if it would be an averaged outputs).
To calculate the statistical deviation you need to run several jobs (minimum recommended is 5) with different random number seeds and average the results (straightforward with FLAIR) and the errors will be computed in this step

Joachim

Subject: [fluka-discuss]: gplevbin and errorbars
Hello,
I generated USRBIN files and use FLAIR to plots them in 1D projections. However, I checked the *.dat files generated by gplevbin, all errors are zero although I select to show error bars. No idea if the problem is from the USRBIN files or gplevin algorithm to calculate errors? My example USRBIN file (binary) is attached here:
