Re: [fluka-discuss]: Should Coalescence mechanism be activated for calculating photoneutron yield?

Dear George,

in principle to have coalescence activated is always preferable, since it
is a mechanism that accounts for something that is observed in reality,
i.e. the high energy tail of light particle (deuteron/A=3/alphas) spectra.
Now, its impact on photoneutrons may not be major (without coalescence
they would tend to be overestimated, on the other hand, in the 2011
version, coalescence is not followed by A=2,3 reinteraction, this way
leading to a - smaller - underestimation).

Ciao

Francesco
