It is hard to judge without further details. Did you allocate enough memory for the virtual machine? This has been the case for other users, see e.g.

Subject: [fluka-discuss]: Flair gives a TIME.OUT message
Hi all,
I am using Flair 2.2-5 [R3954] (Virtual Box, Linux 2.6, Windows 10) for the first time. Every time, I run the flair I get only part of the output file. Moreover I am getting a TIME.OUT message from Flair and sometimes it freezes. I am struggling with this issue for more than two weeks.
I used flupix-2011.2c-5_flair-2.2-5.iso<

https://www.fluka.org/packages/flupix-vdi.zip> for the flair from the Fluka website (
