Dear Agnieszka,

I ran you input files, both for Ra-226 and Am-241.

First thing: you have to lower the photon threshold to 1 keV, in order to take into account the fluorescence photons. It seems to me that the PRECISION mode actives the fluorescence treatment, so maybe it is not necessary to add the EMFFLUO card.

For the Am-241 spectrum, I have identified several main peaks, apart from the peak at 59,54 keV :

    * 13,9 and 26,3 keV, X-rays from Am-241
    * 29,37 keV from Np-237 (at 14;1%)
    * around 40 keV, true coincidence summing (TCS) with 13,9+26,3 keV
    * 312 keV from Pa-233 (at 38,25%)
    * 440,5 keV from Bi-213 (at 26,1%)

Other peaks could come from Am-241 progenies and TCS.
It means that the secular equilibrium is reached between Am-241 (T=432 years) and its progenies, but with Np-237 at 2x10^6 years, it should take a very long time.

I don't know if you must set a decay time to remove the peaks from progenies. Fluka experts at CERN have most certainly the right answer.

Sincerely,
Jean-Emmanuel

Dear Jean-Emmanuel,

Thank You for reply. Can You please also advise if spectrum of Am241 looks fine? I think that the main peak seems to be too close to 100keV.

Best regards,
Agnieszka

Dear Agnieszka,

Most certainly due to Ra-226 progenies. I believe that the peak close
to 50 keV could be attributed to Pb-210 (46.5 keV).
You can check for Bi-214 (609 keV and 1120 keV with large intensities,
but not only) and Pb-214 (295 keV and 352 keV) at upper energies.

Sincerely,
Jean-Emmanuel
