Dear Agnieszka
Alpha decays are not simulated and, thus, neither is the energy deposition by the alphas
Cheers

Subject: [fluka-discuss]: Deposited energy with isotope source
To: FLUKA discussion <fluka-discuss_at_fluka.org<mailto:fluka-discuss_at_fluka.org>>
Dear Fluka Experts,
I am trying to run simple experiment with usage of four radioisotpes: Cs137, Co60, Ra226 and Am241. I am using RADDECAY card and isotope option as a beam. My target is air-filled cylinder and I am using USRBIN card with ENERGY option set up as a particle to score (I want to score deposited energy in cylinder).
My assumption was that for all isotopes I will get quite similar results of energy deposited in cylinder, however this is not what the simulation has shown. For Co60 and Cs137 I got similar results however for Am241 and Ra226 results of the simulations differ a lot.
Can You please advise what might be wrong with my input file? Probably I am missing some significant processes that take place during the simulation or I do not understand how energy deposition is scored with USRBIN. For each simulation I am setting up HI-PROPE card with adequate mass and atomic number.
Best regards,
Agnieszka
