Hello Vladimir,

If you are referring to exercise 2 from the last FLUKA course (, there is nothin wrong with it. The problem seems to be related to your installation of flair. Did you install flair-2.3-0.src.rpm and flair-geoviewer-2.3-0.src.rpm packages? If not, I would suggest uninstalling both flair-geoviewer and flair and installing them using these src.rpm packages according to the instructions here (first compile: rpmbuild --rebuild flair....src.rpm then install the newly created rpm package: rpm -ivh ...).

Best regards,

Subject: [fluka-discuss]: how to start with Flair ?

I istalled Fluka , then Flair

when I type  flair  - I see the Flair window with buttons

when I click open-button and select

          2-ex_Materials.flair  (from last tutorials)

the Flair window is frozen with comment at the terminal:

     ...  File "/usr/lib64/python2.6/lib-tk/", line 2147, in
     *(args + self._options(cnf, kw))))
     TclError: bad screen distance "30.0"

  so, my questions :

  - where is the documentation for Flair ?
 - all pdf files are absent

...when I found one presentation about Flair -

I see that my Flair picture is different from the presented one:

there is NO any Fluka button !   only Flair's buttons

   - so, how to connect installed Fluka with Flair ?

   - how to start with Flair ?

what is wrong with     2-ex_Materials.flair   example ?

   thank you
