>
> Dear Paola, Alice, others,
>
> I just joined the FLUKA group and have been listening. Pardon me for interrupting, I did not know where to, or if I should, introduce myself.
>
> Is this group only for programming problems, or do you also discuss FLUKA as a whole? For 22 years with the Internet Foundation, I try to map all science and technology communities on the Internet. I like what FLUKA is doing, so I wanted to try to map it completely. For me that means everything on the Internet, in digital form, data-streams, paper - regarding phenomena, people, tools, and facilities and impact on society and industries. I have already profiled the individual things in FLUKA, but not the whole.
>
> I start with these kinds of groups: (yes, Honeywell Fluka is in these)
> "FLUKA" "photons" - 114,000 entry points on google
> "FLUKA" "quarks" - 29,000 entry points
> "FLUKA" "fusion" - 481,000
> "FLUKA" "fission" - 66,300
> "FLUKA" "organizations" - 130,000
> "FLUKA" "electron density" - 124,000
> "FLUKA" "noise" - 389,000
> "FLUKA" "fluctuations" - 99,600
> "FLUKA" "documentation" - 66,600
> "FLUKA" "neutron stars" - 12,800
> "FLUKA" ("detector" OR "detectors") - 776,000
> "FLUKA" "python" - 31,900
> "FLUKA" ("algorithm" OR "algorithms") - 219,000
> "FLUKA" ("gravitation" OR "gravitational") - 86,800
> "FLUKA" "pre-processing" - 17,900
> "FLUKA" ("users" OR "user" OR "member" OR "members") - 729,000
>
> Perhaps someone has already mapped the whole Internet on FLUKA entities and relations? Or wants to?
>
> I notice "FLUKA" "gravitational potential" has no results. But most precise experiments and new accelerators have to correct for earth tides, changing rates of clocks with potential, and almost all the "quantum" and "condensate" experiments are sensitive enough to be affected by the changing gravitational potential and its gradients. I met Joe Weber back in the late 1970's at UMD College Park. He and Robert Forward got me hooked on gravitational potential problems and standardization. When I was there I worked on the early NASA GEM geo-potential models. I try to be even handed, but I like tracing out the impacts of the changing gravitational potential on experiments. I am constantly on the lookout for new gravitational imaging array detectors and sensor technologies.
>
> Thank you for any pointers, pardon me for interrupting,

> > Dear Alice
> > Neutron interactions below 20 MeV are treated on the basis of neutron
> > cross section evaluations in a group-wise way, except for a few isotopes.
> > This means that also photon emission is treated group-wise, I mean that
> > the gamma energy is "grouped" in intervals, not lines. More than this,
> > there is no correlation among emitted gamma lines.

> > > Dear expects,
> > >
> > > I am having some troubles to understand how to retrieve information on
> > > neutron captures on Gd. I would like to reconstruct the spectrum of
> > > de-excitation photons. So far I select interactions with ICode=300 and
> > > JTRACK =8 where photons are listed among the daughter particles and I
> > > require that a nucleus of Gd is in the residual nuclei list (ask for
> > > ICRES=64). I have checked the energies of the daughter photons but they
> > > do not correspond to the predicted de-excitation energy of the Gd
> > > isotope created. Am I doing something wrong?
> > >
> > > Thanks a lot.
> > >
> > > Best,
> > >
