Hi Ram,
As you may well understand, the dose scorings (dose, dose equivalent, ambient dose equivalents, etc.) are intensive, i.e. they don't scale to the dimensions, so what you are obtaining is logical, but what you are trying to do isn't.
Just so that you understand, what you are doing is like adding up the temperatures of all nodes in a mesh (what would be the sense of that unless you want to obtain an average temperature?). Obviously, the result will scale to the number of nodes in the mesh.
note: doses are related to track length densities --> intensive units.

Subject: [fluka-discuss]: Ambient Dose Equivalent using AUXSCORE
Dear Sir,
I am esimating Ambient Dose Eq due to photons using AUXSCORE. I have
selected a volume in the geometry for this purpose which is 80 cm (in X)
x 80 cm (in Y) x 15 cm (in Z). I binned this area differently in two
separate simnulations,
(a) 100 (in X) x100 (in Y) x10 (in z) - Sum of the dose eq in all the
100,000 bins was = 5.39x10^-4 pSv
(b) 20 (in X) x20 (in Y) x3 (in z) - Sum of the dose eq in all the
1,200 bins was = 6.47x10^-6 pSv
Total dose eq in this volume q in case (a) is ~83 times of case (b).
Please note that I have increased reduced no. of bins 83 times in case
(b). I do not understand this why the total dose eq is scaling linearly
with number of bins.
If someone has faced same thing please let me know.
Regards,
Ram Prakash
