Unfortunately, we are encountering an undocumented error. These were tested using FLUKA 2023 version 3.3, which is the most recently installed version on our cluster. We would be very grateful if you could have a look at the problem and help us figuring out the solution. Please find attached two input files as minimal examples that describe our problem. In both cases, there is a heavy ion beam collimated by a block solid metal. In one case the material is titanium (Ti), in the other case tungsten carbide (WC). While we are not facing any issues in case of Ti, many simulation runs are aborted in case of WC. Exemplarily, we have provided the corresponding .err and .out file of such an aborted simulation. The error says: "Abort called from EVEVAP reason MXHEAV TOO SMALL!! Run stopped! STOP MXHEAV TOO SMALL!! " We also observed, that the more primaries are set, the more simulation runs are aborted. In this case, 90 jobs out of 200 were aborted. Similar issues were observed in other cases, where heavy target materials like gold were used. Is there something we have overlooked? We are grateful for any advice.
