Dear FLUKA users,
Due to a minor issue in one routine, which could cause a random number non reproducibility,
the fluka2024.1.1 files have been rebuilt. Please download them again.
Sorry for this issue
Below the original announcement for fluka2024.1.1
Fluka2024.1.1, a minor respin of Fluka2024.1, is now available on the
official FLUKA web site (www.fluka.org).
This respin fixes a few issues, and introduces a change and two improvements;
Improvements:
- the latest (further) improvements for photonuclear reactions has been
implemented into fluka2024.1.1. The impact is minor, fluka2024.1.0
already had almost all new photonuclear developments;
- the (crude) rescaling for the Ambient Dose conversion coefficients for
ions heavier than alphas have been substituted by the Sato et al. ISO
irradiation effective dose coefficients for Z=3-28, extrapolated for
higher Z's.
Change:
- Now the default for PRECISIO, HADROTHE, and CALORIME, for isomer production
at the end of an interaction is to trust the physics of the de-excitation
routine physics rather than the old fixed fraction.
This corresponds to:
PHYSICS 1.0 ISOMERS
The old behaviour can be selected with:
PHYSICS -1.0 ISOMERS
The issues now fixed:
- an issue preventing the use of the PEANUT capability of simulating
nucleon decays. Thanks to P.Sala for finding it;
- a possible (rare) crash in the wgtlet routine when asking for the dose
averaged LET generalized particle. Thanks to R.Dos Santos Augusto for
finding it;
- the PTRACK variable following a low energy neutron interaction was
updated before a possible call to mgdraw/endraw/usdraw, contrary to what
occurs with different kind of interactions. This had no impact on
the result but it could confuse possible user written scoring.
Thanks to P.Sala for finding it;
- an issue with the decay of excited nuclear levels of even-even nuclei
with unknown spins but known mean life and decay scheme, with decay on
the ground state only. This fix requires re-downloading of the data
file (fluka2024.1-data.tar.gz);
- an issue which could results in a (very rare) crash when using the new
Dpmjet3.19 A-A cross sections (apparently nobody ever ran into it...);
- a very rare out of boundary crash in hdncgl;
- a very rare crash in eventp;
At the same time, some clean-up of the code has been also performed as
usual.
The flair-2.3-0epy3 and flair-geoviewer-2.3-0epy3 files have been also
updated correcting a few minor bugs, please download them again.
All users are urged to update to this respin. This is particularly
important because the improvements, one of the issues, and the default
change can change the random number sequence also for problems not affected
by the crashes listed above. As usual, assistance will be provided only for
the latest release/respin.
