 Hi Michele,

you cannot import a geometry .stp CAD file in FLUKA.
I forward to you the answer of Chris (thanks to him), that clarifies to
you the reason because this is not a reasonable option in SimpleGeo
(and, in general, for particle transport calculations).

  cheers,
  Anna

I'm afraid that import of step files is not an option because they tend
to describe the geometry in a way which is not directly compatible with
combinatorial solid geometry. Often it's a boundary representation which
describes volumetric bodies by means of faces and FLUKA does not provide
any means of tracking in such descriptions. One should also keep in mind
that even if this would be possible, from a technical point of view,
there are issues with accuracy etc. with respect to the tracking. This
is the reason why CAD import is not a standard option for particle
transport calculations.

Hope that helps
Chris
