Dear Andrew

indeed you can use the usrmed user routine in order to achieve exactly
that (I did it many times). If you flag (a) material(s) using the MAT-PROP
card with SDUM=USERDIRE, every time a particle will enter that/those
material(s) the usrmed routine will be called. Inside that routine you
can change the particle cosines so that it is reflected (in case you need
the normal let me know and I'll explain you how to get it)
