Hi Danny,
flair doesn't use the process information to identify the status of a run,
but is based only on the files that FLUKA creates during the run.
The reason for that, is to be portable across various batch systems, where
the fluka process doesn't run locally but on another machine.
However it has several drawbacks, especially on long runs if fluka doesn't
write much information on the status of the run then flair has no mean of
identifying if the run continue or simply there was a crash.
Then it reports this time-out message.
The threshold of accepted "file inactivity" is set in the preferences. By
default is 2 minutes, however you can increase it as you like. The problem
that will appear if you increase it too much is that if you have a real
crash then flair would take a lot of time to figure it out.
Cheers
Vasilis
