Hello,

In some recent simulations being done on a linux cluster, the system administrator complained that there was a lot of statusing going on and it was affecting the cluster performance. Specifically, it was pointed out that there was a lot of opening and closing of files in the DDS and Fad directories. I haven't had problems before, but is this normal for FLUKA to do this? Is there any way to minimize the activity or have those .dat files read into memory? The simulations involved heavy ion transport (4-Helium and Carbon) with PRECISIOn physics through aluminum targets.

Sincerely,
