Re: [fluka-discuss]: neutron cross sections version (ENDF/B-VI?)

Actually, ENDF/B-7.0 should be fine. Versions 7.0 and 7.1 are identical for 136Xe.

The correlated capture gammas are the ones described in ALICE-INT-2001-28, "Implementation Of Xenon Capture Gammas In FLUKA For TRD Background Calculations", correct? Those are based on Hamada, et. al., and are not sufficiently detailed or accurate for our purposes. We have found that using resnuclei to record the number of captures, and then using our own correlated capture gamma generator, based on Prussin et. al., works fairly well.

In any case, knowing that resonant capture is properly taken into account should be sufficient for now. Thank you!

Cheers,
Josh

This uses a highly simplified version of the (n,gamma) cross section for 136Xe, and treats the entire resonance set as an averaged out increase. The cross sections in ENDF/B-VII.1, for example, treat this much more nicely.
