RE: [fluka-discuss]: Upgrading FLUKA using rpm

Hi Alberto,

Thanks. I was concerned about it being installed in the wrong folder. I
removed the fluka folder and just renamed the fluka% (namesuff) . Petr had
also suggested this. That worked but I wasn't sure if it would create some
other problem down the road. Thanks for the heads-up about Fedora 20.

Regards,
Nisy

Hi Nisy,

I don't know why the fluka files were installed in the wrong directory. But
the fix is easy. Delete the directory and create a new one where you want.
Instead of the rpm
file, download the fluka2011.2b-6-linuxAA.tar.gz file into that directory.
Then type:
tar -zxvf fluka2011.2b-6-linuxAA.tar.gz
and when all the files have been extracted, type:
make

I would like, however, to warn you about the Fedora version you are using.
The present version is Fedora 20, and version 15 is likely to cease soon to
be supported.

Kind regards,

Alberto

Subject: [fluka-discuss]: Upgrading FLUKA using rpm

Normally, I don't have any trouble when upgrading FLUKA to the latest
version by using the rpm files. I am using Fedora 15. However, this time I
discovered that the fluka folder (/usr/local/fluka) is empty and that a new
folder fluka% (namesuff) has all the fluka files. Why is this happening and
how do I fix it?

Thanks,
Nisy
