Dear FLUKA users,
I'm simulating a muon beam (300 GeV) interacting with a cylindrical water
target. I'm using the DELTARAY card with 'print' and reading off the
stopping powers from the .out file.
My question is: does the second column, the unrestricted stopping power,
include radiative energy losses, such as bremsstrahlung, and pair
production?
At 300 GeV, the FLUKA output is:
E_kin dE/dx eta shell corr. restr.dE/dx
(GeV) (GeV/cm) (GeV/cm)
3.097E+02 2.843E-03 2.932E+03 2.393E-10 1.718E-03.
But, the pdg table shows an ionization loss of 2.92E-3, and radiative loss
of 0.79E-3 at this muon energy. So the total energy loss should be
3.71E-3. (

)
Thank you very much!
Shirley
