Lars,

If things work fine only if you set TXFLK (NPFLKA) = UBEAM, ..., it may be so because you are actually not using the source routine, and FLUKA is just using the data of BEAMPOS card. Are you sure that you called the routine with the SOURCE card and that you linked/compiled?
Can you add some print statement to source.f to make sure that the routine is being used?

Subject: [fluka-discuss]: Unable to change beam direction directly in source.f

Dear Fluka users

I'm having trouble changing the beam direction using
TXFLK (NPFLKA)
TYFLK (NPFLKA)
TZFLK (NPFLKA)
in the source routine.

If I have the source routine read the directions from BEAMPOS card in Fluka using e,g TXFLK (NPFLKA) = UBEAM, it works perfectly.
But if I try to define TXFLK (NPFLKA) as for example -1 directly in the routine, nothing happens. With nothing, I mean that the beam misses my target.

I've tried
TXFLK (NPFLKA) = -1
TXFLK (NPFLKA) = -1.0
TXFLK (NPFLKA) = -ONEONE
in hope that it should make any difference, but unfortunately not. I've also tried to remove the BEAMPOS card completely in Fluka, but the same results were achieved.
Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Best regards,
---
