Dear FLUKA Experts,
While simulating protons onto a CARBON slab and dumping the products
exiting the slab, it has been found that FLUKA produces the particle
with the ID of -29 (actually this observation has been already reported
in fluka-discuss on 29.08.2016 but no light seems to be shed on since then).
The total energy of the particle -29 which is slightly above 11.17 GeV
allows for guessing that it is simply a carbon recoil.
Does this mean that the recoils are now a) transportable and b) visible
in mgdraw (seems that they are but it has been always thought that they
are not)?
Shall the recoils with other negative IDs (below -6 or -12) be expected
in other cases?
Kind regards,
Vadim
PS: (TRACKR) comments that for recoils the ID can be outside the allowed
range but does not give an idea what exactly a user shall be prepared to
meet in a "regular" dump...
