Dear FLUKA experts,
I am trying to simulate a continuous 220 kV X-ray spectra filtered through 1.52 mm Al + 0.7 mm Cu to harden the beam. Furthermore, the X-ray photons are collimated through a tungsten block with spatially periodic holes before impinging the cell flask in which I have (for simplicity) filled up with a "medium". Here I have adjusted the production and transport thresholds for electrons and photons to 1 keV and 100 eV, respectively. However, I cannot seem to measure the broad X-ray spectrum in the medium. Also, even the dose-depth curve throughout the medium is completely saturated with noise, whereas I would expect to see a conventional build-up region before an exponential decline in dose.
I need to simulate low-energy electron-photon transport in the medium by obtaining dose-depth curve, fluence-depth curves for both electrons and photons, a continuous energy fluence X-ray spectrum and 2D dose and fluence maps on the surface of the medium.
What am I doing wrong? Could anyone give me any direction? Many thanks in advance!
I have attached the input-file.
Regards,
Delmon
