Use of FLUKA for fragment distribution and energy deposition analysis in materials and device models relevant for SEE Ruben Garcia Alia CERN Abstract: FLUKA was used to extract information about the particle fragments from hadron-Silicon interactions responsible for SEEs in microelectronic devices. The focus was set on the particular effects related to GeV-hadrons, which cannot be tested for in conventional experimental facilities; as well as in pion-induced events, due to the significant contribution of these particles to the total high-energy hadron fluence. In addition, simulations were performed to extract the fission cross section of energetic protons and neutrons on tungsten, motivated by the limited experimental data in the GeV-energy range. In addition, a transport study of the high-LET fission products was carried out.
