Nicole,
in the isotope table (Z vs N) many cases are empty. The purpose of
M = N-Z-(NMZ)min is to avoid a waste of array space.
As you can read in the manual, you can easily derive N from it:
N = M + Z + (NMZ)_min (with (NMZ)_min = -5)
and of course A = Z + N = M + 2Z -5
