[fluka-discuss]: RE: SimpleGeo error messages when loading Collision File data

Hello Chris,

Thank you for the advice.
I think the problem was that I had completely overlooked the *.tracks file, which was created in a different directory to the *.scr file.

I can now load and visualise the tracks overlaid on the geometry.
Unfortunately there are a few objects which are not quite located correctly when displayed in SimpleGeo (there are some warnings when I load the FLUKA *.inp file). I am not sure, but I suspect that this may be because I have used BOX objects rotated with respect to the x,y,z axes in my model. The particle tracks are not affected however.

Regards,
Mark

Hi Mark,

when you run the program pipsicad_simplegeo as described at (http://theis.web.cern.ch/theis/simplegeo/manual/manual2.htm#Pipsi) you should get an *.scr file but also a file with the extension *.tracks
The latter is the one you can load and visualize with the PipsiCAD3D plugin in SimpleGeo. It has a format like the example shown below.

The SCR file is a script which can be loaded into AutoCAD to draw the tracks. That's a legacy from the original PipsiCAD program by my colleague Helmut Vincke.

Cheers
Chris

Subject: [fluka-discuss]: SimpleGeo error messages when loading Collision File data

Dear FLUKA Discussion,

This problem is not strictly FLUKA itself, but I hope that someone may still be able to help.

I would like to produce track visualisation for my application, which is looking at the dose from protons and their secondaries scattered from a beam dump.

After running the Pipsicad_SimpleGeo interface in FLUPIX on Windows 7, I have successfully created an ASCII file 'collfile.scr'.
I have added a link here (the file is too large to attach)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/vdgqb04gz4lhx74/collfile.scr?dl=0

This is the file which I must now load into SimpleGeo with the plugin PipsiCAD3D.plx

Unfortunately, I have encountered a problem. When I run the SimpleGeo plugin with my file as Input, I get a series of Warning messages like this:
[cid:c1c2517f-b0eb-435a-b7c3-be43d381c4a3]

This causes a SimpleGeo program crash with no option but to exit the program.

I have also attached the FLUKA Input File.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Many thanks.
Mark
