[fluka-discuss]: RE: Gfortran install errors (flukahp and flutil)

I appreciate the speedy response regarding this error. I've installed gawk and attempted to get Fluka running. I've encountered some form of segmentation error when trying to run using the proper syntax practice code provided by Stefan. Attached is my attempt at a Fluka reinstall and practice run.

If the general trend is that my Linux platform is too current, I'm perfectly happy to use an older version if anyone has a suggestion. Whatever it takes to get me coding!

Hi Andrew

You may find this post useful regarding the awk messages
http://www.fluka.org/web_archive/earchive/new-fluka-discuss/6448.html
However, finally I see that you get an flukahp created ;-)

At the same time, in your input there is a blank in front of the GEOBEGIN card and body/region definitions, the second line of the GEOBEGIN card is incorrect etc... I have attached a corrected input that works, at least technically. Please try

Cheers
Stefan

Fluka Experts,

Since Flupix isn't available at the moment, I've decided to try and give Fluka for 64-bit Linux with gfortran a shot. I'm running Ubuntu 18.04 in Virtual Box with gfortran 7.3.0. I've installed python3, tk, tkinter, and several other prerequisite programs based on the installation procedures and other guides.

I've run into a reoccurring issue with each of my installation attempts so far. Certain files aren't found during the 'make' command, and then the practice problem involving 50 GeV proton beam onto Be target won't run properly. It never gets past the ===Running Cycle 1=== message.

I've attached the terminal text in HTML format in the hopes that the installation process results will help you discover why I'm having this issue. Additionally, I attached my input file for the practice problem. I'm not 100% certain that my syntax is correct.

Thank you in advance,
