[fluka-discuss]: High density compressed gas (MATPROP card) ?

Dear Fluka experts,

I would like to model energy deposited in a highly compressed dense gas as a result of an incident proton beam.

I have tried using the matprop card to increase the temperature, pressure and density of the gas but this doesn't appear to have much effect on my energy deposition results.

Are there limits to the values of gas pressure and RHOR in the matprop card that FLUKA will allow? Do the values of gas pressure, T_act/T_xs and RHOR need to be related for it to make physical sense? Also does the value of WHAT3 (ionisation) have to be redefined to model a compressed gas?

Thanks for any guidance you can offer.

Kind Regards

Tristan
