Dear Andrew,

MGNFIELD sets only one magnetic field, therefore you need to edit the magfield.f routine.

In Docker, you need to install a text editor program (like emacs or vim) or you can edit the routine with any text editor on the native Windows 10 OS and the use it in Docker.

Best, luigi

FLUKA Discuss Group,

As always, thank you for all the hard work you do supporting this amazing program. I am running FLAIR in Docker on Windows 10. I want to setup magnetic fields for the 2 90-degree turns our 180 MeV linac tunnel goes through to reach the ring. I’ve used the Compile feature in FLAIR to choose MAGFIELD.f user routine, but I am unable to actually edit the file. I would’ve used MGNFIELD in FLAIR Input, but the 2 turns require equal magnitude but opposite polarity fields. In practice, I need my first turn to be 0.205 T, and the second turn to be -0.205 T. The local Input code only acknowledges my last input of -.205 T, and I can’t edit the user routine.

Any suggestion on how to edit the MAGFIELD.f user routine in FLAIR, or to make the normal Input accept to different magnetic field values?

Kindest Regards,
