Dear Li,

FLUKA can convert particle fluence to ambient dose equivalent online. AUXSCORE card is used to filter scoring detectors by particle type and to select conversion of fluence to effective dose and ambient dose equivalent. If you are interested in total ambient dose equivalent, you would choose ALL-PART as WHAT(2) and AMB74 as SDUM in AUXSCORE (both of which are actually defaults for this card, so technically, in this particular case, you don't even have to do this).

Exercise 9 of FLUKA course contains an example of how to score effective dose, or ambient dose equivalent:

Also useful is the Induced Activity lecture https://indico.cern.ch/event/694979/contributions/2927152/attachments/1657658/2654336/Activation_2018.pdf

Best regards,

George

Subject: [fluka-discuss]: ambient dose equivalent at a point

Dear Fluka experts¡A

I want to know the ambient dose equivalent at a point in space after shielding.Fluka manual (page 67) says "For dose equivalent (DOSE¡VEQ) scoring , the user can provide the energy dependent factors for the conversion of fluence to effective dose and ambient dose equivalent for neutrons, protons, charged pions, muons, photons and electrons". Does that mean I should scoring the fluence first and then convert it ?
Which cards (scoreing) should I choose and how to set them?

Best regards,
Li
