Dear Luis,

In principle if the simulation finishes abruptly (as is the case when you run 20.000.000 primaries), it is normal that you shouldn't be able to process and plot the results. The question is why your simulation finishes abruptly.

It is difficult to guess due to the lack of information, but maybe when you run cycles of 20.000.000, you come across an error in the input that you did not hit when you stopped at 100'000. I would suggest that you inspect the .out and .err files you have produced when running, and see at what point it crashes. You should also be able to see after how many primaries you run into trouble.

Cheers,
Matteo

Subject: [fluka-discuss]: Number of primaries problem

Dear Fluka experts,

I am working on a LINAC shielding and I am doing a leakage test with gantry jaws closed. My problem is that when I run my input with 5 cycles and 100.000 primaries I get to process the data and plot the results. However, when I increase the number of primaries to 20.000.000 primaries, leaving the cycles untouched, the simulation finishes quicker and when I press Process in the Run-Data tab, flair says to me "Possible errors:LINAC_highstats_30.bnn correctly process" and I cannot plot the results.

Does anybody know what is going on?

Best regards,

Luis
