Dear Petr,
I am also using Debian. It is a well known issue that the stable version
which you are using comes with old packages. That is why the testing
version is a better option.
If I were you I would open sources.list file located here:
/etc/apt/sources.list
and change
deb
http://deb.debian.org/debian stable main contrib non-free
to
deb
http://deb.debian.org/debian testing main contrib non-free
Comment all other lines in the file.
Then I would delete the already installed old gfrotran compiler.
Update the repositories with the command 'apt update' and install the new
gfortran 10.
After installing the new gfortran you can change the repositories back to
stable.
