these problem reminded me another similar case on the list

however, thanks to your extended analysis it shows that the "problem"
comes from the electrons and not from the other particles. Using the NEW-DEFAULTS
(recommended default for most of the problems) proves to be not appropriate for your situation.
The high electron threshold of 1MeV, stops them at specific distance in the air.
They depositing their energy on the spot (electrons are not ranged out) with a consequence a
huge DOSE (division by the small density of air).

Lowering the threshold of the electrons with the EMFCUT you will dramatically
increase CPU-time but you will get a correct result. To reduce CPU time please use also the
EMFBIAS card.
