Hi Ana,

you have to convert the kinetic energy spread dT=dE in momentum spread dp
E^2 = m^2 + p^2 => 2*E*dE = 2*p*dp where E=T+m
In flair you have a function for it, check the F3.6 section Function evaluation
dT2dp(T,dT,m)
you can use it as

=-dT2dp(60*MeV, 0.5*MeV, Mp)

Don't forget the - to be interpreted as Gaussian spread

Hello Fluka experts,


I would like to simulate a 60 MeV proton beam with an energy spread of 0.5 MeV. Using a BEAM card, it is possible to define the beam momentum spread in GeV/c, but I'm not familiar with this definition. How can I define the energy spread of the beam? Should it be 0.0005 or 0.0005*c?
