Dear Froso

I believe your question was never answered on the list.
Similar problem has been discussed on the list in the past. What you want to do is to filter results considering individual isotope which are in de the decay chain of the natural radionuclides you consider.
As FLUKA will consider the whole decay chain, you need to use a user routine. For example, if you score energy deposition in a detector, use the comscw.f (don't forget USERWEIG) routine. You can obtain the information on the present isotope by looking at the RSNCCM common block.....

I understand that the possibility to filter scored quantities based on the decay of a single isotope will be a built-in feature in a future FLUKA release (it is being tested in a beta version)

Greetings
Joachim

Subject: [fluka-discuss]: FLUKA produce radioisotope daughters

Dear all,
I'm using FLUKA to simulate gamma-ray spectra from natural radionuclides in the sea, using a used-defined spherical volume source in which radionuclides are produced randomly .
As a result, I want to see the energy that is deposited in the detector.
The problem is that I'm using radionuclides from the U-238, U-235 and
Th-232 decay series and for example, for the isotope Pb-212 I get also results for the isotope Tl-208 which is the last radionuclide in the chain.
Is there any way that I can get only results for a specific isotope and not also for his daughters?

Thank you,
Froso Androulakaki
