understanding the default use of USERDUMP and MGDRAW is not easy.

My ultimate goal is to get FLUKA to score only scattered photons. I have a spectroscopic detector and my plan is to image something, then model the same situation but only score scattered photons and do some subtractions to remove the modelled scattered photons from the imaged spectrum.
I am having some difficulties trying to figure out how to do this in FLUKA and I seem to just be going round in circles and not getting anywhere! I thought I would start with the basics of USRDUMP and just try to get some information out of it so I could see what effect each of the settings had etc.

Hi Faith,
with an unmodified mgdraw you can do a few things with the userdump output
E.g. in flair you can plot the distribution of the source particles as histograms or scatter plots
and in the geometry editor in flair you can plot the particle tracks, creating a special layer.
The real question is why do you need it? Is the internal scoring of fluka not fitting for your problem?

Hi All,
I am trying to get USRDUMP to work at first just for one of the options that doesn't require the MGDRAW to be modified. I selected a unit number and filename. It produced a file called scoring001_filename but how do i access the information in that file as it doesn't seem to open in anything?
