Dear Vitaly,
please see my answers inline.
A couple of additional comments follow here as well.

- Your beam initial position is at z = -10, i.e. inside the target: not sure if it is done on purpose.
- You should give a different name to each scoring in order to differentiate for the cooling time
and, related to that, the DCYSCORE cards are associated always to the same scoring.
- in the DCYSCORE you need to specify if you want to associate to a USRBIN or to a RESNUCLE (they’re all associated to USRBIN, none of
them to a RESNUCLE)

Hope this could help.
Kind regards, luigi

Hi All!

I'm new FLUKA user and have some questions.

I want to calculate next task: PbWO4 scintillator (PWO) with sizes 3x3x22 cm irradiated with protons E=24 GeV (flux 3.14E9 1/(s*cm2)) during 38000 s. I need to calculate activity (Bq/g or Bg/cm3) and dose rate (Gy/s) of residual nuclei induced by protons in various part of PWO in a 3 time periods: 1 s, 2.59E6 s and 7.776E6 s. I write cards (see attach) and have next questions:

1). IRRPROFI: is beam intensity set as particle per second PER 1 cm2 or PER dx*dy of beam from BEAM card?

the beam intensity in IRRPROFI represents the number of primary/s and does not dependent on the spatial distribution of the beam.
(results are averaged over the beam distribution you have set up).
What counts eventually is the total number of protons impinging on the target, which is, in your case, 3.14e9 p/s times 38000 s.

2). In what units residual nuclei activity calculated in RESNUCLE cards in my case?

When a scoring is associated to a DCYSCORE, the results are given per unit time.
Therefore, RESNUCLE are expressed in Bq (ref. Note 7 of RESNUCLE section in the manual)

3). In what units residual nuclei dose calculated in USRBIN cards in my case? What time period necessary to take for dose rate calculations for 3 DCYSCORES?

As for previous point, the results are given per unit time. In your case it means (GeV/g)/s. (see note 7 of RADDECAY section in the manual).
However it’s not really clear to me what is your purpose here. I guess that it would be more interesting to look at dose equivalent *outside* your detector
(your USRBIN extends to the target only).
Your last question is not easy to understand. Let me say that the cooling times in the DEYSCORE are defined by the card DCYTIMES.
The values you choose need to be pertinent to your application.

Vitaly.
