Hello Adrian,

If you run your input without the LOW-MAT card, the run will end with the following error (written at the end of the .out file):
**** Low energy neutron xsec not found for some media 4 5 ****
 GRAPHITE

Although there should be no neutrons in your problem, you are using PRESISIOn default, which, as the manual explains, automatically activates neutron transport: "Low energy neutron transport on down to thermal energies included". So, when the run is initiated, every material has to be linked to its corresponding low-energy neutron cross-section. GRAPHITE is not one of the FLUKA pre-defined materials and the code does not know which low-energy neutron cross-section to apply to it. Hence you must have the LOW-MAT card, as explained in the note 3 of the LOW-MAT manual page.

Regards,
George
