Dear Haoyu,

You can obtain the "Tot. response" given in the sum.lis file by simply adding up the different values in tab.lis in the following way: column3*(column2-column1). Since the values in tab.lis are differential in energy, you have to multiply each value with the energy bin size (given by the difference of column 2 and column 1). Note that if no volume is specified on the USTRACK card (as in your case) a dummy volume of 1 cm^3 is assumed. That's why "Tot. response" (which is normalized by the volume) is the same as "Track l." in sum.lis.

Concerning the plotting of neutron nergy spectra, <X>*Y is commonly used (isolethargic spectrum). This has been discussed multiple times on the list, see e.g. the following old thread for more details on the physical meaning: http://www.fluka.org/web_archive/earchive/new-fluka-discuss/5650.html

Cheers, Anton

Subject: [fluka-discuss]: How to get the cumulative flux from tab.lis?

Dear FLUKA Experts,

I'm trying to score the neutron flux using USRTRACK card, and get one sum.lis and one tab.lis. There are some information about "cumulative flux" in sum.lis, but could I calculate these myself using the tab.lis file? How to get it? The 2 files were attached.

By the way, if I want to plot the energy spectrum of the neutrons, how should I do? Using "DX*Y" in flair? Or "<X>*Y"? What's the difference?

Thanks a lot.

Best Regards,
Haoyu
