Dear David,

You got it. Reading your email, I checked and also I found that I have g++, gcc and
gfortran version 8 while version 7.3 is active.

I used update-alternatives as :
 sudo update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/gcc gcc /usr/bin/gcc-7 700 --slave
/usr/bin/g++ g++ /usr/bin/g++-7
 sudo update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/gcc gcc /usr/bin/gcc-7 700 --slave
/usr/bin/g++ g++ /usr/bin/g++-7
 sudo update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/gcc gcc /usr/bin/gcc-8 800 --slave
/usr/bin/g++ g++ /usr/bin/g++-8
 sudo update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/gfortran gfortran /usr/bin/gfortran-7 900
 sudo update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/gfortran gfortran /usr/bin/gfortran-8 950

Then I checked using:
sudo update-alternatives --config gcc
sudo update-alternatives --config g++
sudo update-alternatives --config gfortran

to confirm that version 8 is working and installed
fluka2011.2x-linux-gfor64bit-7.3-AA.tar.gz. Now the fluka is running from command
prompt and also from flair.

Thanks a lot for kindly prompting the reason for the problem.

Best Regards
Abhijit
