David and Abhijit,

When several gfortran compilers are present on the same workstation,
you have to define the new links to the gcc, gfortran and cpp versions.
On Ubuntu, this should be done with the following commands:
sudo update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/gcc gcc /usr/bin/gcc-
#version 10.
sudo update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/gfortran gfortran
/usr/bin/gfortran-#version 20.
sudo update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/cpp cpp /usr/bin/cpp-
#version 30.
where gfortran-#version could be gfortran-7 for the version 7.3.0
