Re: [fluka-discuss]: Number of particles tracked different from input

Dear Filipa, dear Markus,
no no, fortunately the reason is another (...and a such limit would pose
problems in describing complex geometries!!).

  1)  you run only 10^5 primaries because in the card START the input is not
entirely within the what(1) field, and only 100000 is read
  2) you have, by the way, an error in the geometry: you have defined your
regions fibers as infinite cylinders, therefore there are errors when you go
outside the water (see picture, taken at x=-11. in your geometry). Even if
you did not experience a crash, you have to confine the fibers in the water
region (as I did in the attached file) or subtract the XCC from the region
air

In attachment I put a version of your input that should be correct.
Kind regards, hope it helps
Anna

The simulation runs, but when I check, the output file (i.e. 3rdpoint_fibres005_fort.24) it says it only tracked 10^5 particles whereas it should have tracked 10^9. I know this is indeed true because I would expect this simulation to take a lot longer than it's currently taking. I'm guessing there is a problem with geometry but I am not interely sure what. I generated several cilinders using transformation interface (ctrl + T).
