Thank you for the insight.
I wish to know whether ISOTOPE flag/BEAM card and SOURCE card can be used together, giving the maximum energy of 1 MeV in source.f ?
Or, by doing so, I am incorrectly (confusing) defining the source/beam ? And hence, should I be using either ISOTOPE flag or SOURCE (source.f) ?

Regards,
Raksha.

Dear Raksha,

When you ask for Mo-99 as isotope you will get Tc-99m and its decay.

You can simulate Tc-99m directly, considering HI-PROPE as:

*...+....1....+....2....+....3....+....4....+....5....+....6....+....7....+....
HI-PROPE 43. 99. -1.

Regarding the source.f, yes you can. One of many references to set up the
source:

As for your last question the answer is also yes, you should give the max
energy (you can round it up to 1 MeV).

Best regards,
Ricardo

Objet : [fluka-discuss]: ISOTOPE flag in BEAM with source.f user routine

Dear experts,

I would like to simulate Mo-99 radioisotpoe.
May I know whether I can use ISOTOPE in BEAM card with HI-PROP, DCYSCORE
and RADDECAY to simulate the same? In this case, as I understand it will
consider the decay of Mo-99. Would it also consider Tc-99m decay ? If not,
how to do that ?
Secondly, what if, I would like to give three prime photons of Mo-99 in
source.f routine ? Can i do that ? In this case, what will be the Energy
in BEAM card ? Should I put max. 778 keV there among the three photons?

Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Raksha.
