Dear Fluka users
fluka2020.0.4 has been just uploaded to the Fluka web site and it is ready
for download. This is a respin of fluka2020.0 correcting some minor bugs
and introducing few new features.
This respin addresses the following issues/improvements:
Corrected issues:
a) an issue with the 12-C low energy neutron pointwise routine
(gfortran-10 only)
b) an issue in the eventv routine (gfortran-10 only)
c) an issue with the default maximum scoring energy in USRBDX,
USRTRACK, USRCOLL, when the beam is a radioactive isotope
(thanks to the user who pointed out the problem)
d) an issue with the excess mass calculation for very heavy (A>>300)
(pre)fragments arising from heavy ion collisions on heavy targets
(thanks to the Brescia group for pointing it out)
e) an issue with the initialization of Clebsh-Gordan coefficients
for very large angular momenta
f) a further issue in the "echo" input file with geometry directives
(eg $Start_Translat etc) which were misintepreted (thanks to P.Sala
for pointing out this issue), hopefully it is the last one
g) a possible counter overflow for very long runs in the geometry
has been corrected
h) an issue with the cosmic ray source routine (thanks to the
user who pointed out the problem)
i) the cosmic ray input example has been corrected in order to be
coherent with fluka2020.0
j) the cosmic ray example data cards have been corrected in order to
avoid duplicated estimator names
None of the above are of relevance for users who did not meet them
up to now, that is that did not have a related crash.
Improvements/additions:
1) low energy neutron cross sections are now available also for
Tl taken from Endf/b-VIII/r0. The cross sections for Gold has
been also recomputed from Endf/b-VIII/r0. For details about the
corresponding identifiers please look at the manual
2) the nuclear database has been again improved, particularly
concerning isomers and rare decays for heavy elements
3) the documentation has been extensively improved with regard to
the use of the built-in pointwise cross sections and pre-defined
defaults
4) the checks for ion generators/transport have been improved
adding a further protection in case detailed heavy ion transport is
not activated
5) a protection on the maximum number of radioactive decay replicas
has been added to avoid possible overflows of the FHEAVY common
6) the minimum energy per nucleon required for stacking and
transporting heavy ions is now consistent in all interaction
generators
For the time being, tar files are available for Linux compiled with
g77, gfortran-10.2, gfortran-9.3, and gfortran-8.4. Tar files are
available for Mac compiled with gfortran-9.3, and gfortran-8.4.
Rpm's are available for Linux Linux compiled with g77 and gfortran-10.2.
A tar file for Linux compiled with gfortran-8 and with "old" glibc
and binutils will be soon available as well.
As usual, assistance will be provided only for the latest respin.
Enjoy and stay safe!
