Ok..

One last question: can I get access to the method/routine that FLUKA uses to compute DOSEQLET?

Thanks again for your help,

Brandon

I'm afraid yes.

Yes, that is what I am trying to get. After writing my last response, I was thinking this may be very complicated if I use something like mgdraw.

Is this the user routine you are referring to or is there a more efficient one?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Brandon,
them I misunderstood what you want to obtain. You want actually to obtain the LET averaged on all the primary and secondary tracks for all the particles of the shower generated by the primary event. Am I correct?

Using DOSEQLET you will get back the Q(LET) relation which we use (ICRP60) where LET= LET(inf) in water.
What you request can be done of course with an user routine.

Thanks for the reply Vittorio. Yes, I have obtained the stopping power tables as you describe, but I don't think that helps me for a volume where I have a shower of charged particles passing through a volume, each particle having different initial energies and path lengths through the volume.

Shouldn't this calculation be available somewhere since FLUKA can provide DOSEQLET in a volume? If so, how can I get this LET? Could I score both DOSE and DOSEQLET in the same volume, and use these values to get average IRCP60 quality factor, then determine track-averaged LET from the Q(LET) equations?

Dear Brandon,
the track averaged LET is in principle the stopping power.

You can get the stopping power calculated by FLUKA for each
material using the DELTARAY. (See Manual 7.1.3.7 of the pdf,
or 7.12 of the ASCII + references therein)
Best,
Vittorio

Hello,

I know how to use USRYIELD to get LET across a surface, is there a way to get track averaged LET over a volume (i.e. Delta-E/pathlength) in FLUKA?
