Dear Anna
I did a exercise using USRBIN card and Scoring DOSE-EQ around the target as you suggested and found a good result under the same condition of a 10MeV electron beam and a target with length of 2.8mm and radius of 2.8mm. Thank you!

In addition, I did another exercises using USRYIELD card and attempted to get the angular distribution of DOSE-EQ. I setted 3 and 6 for what(6) of the 2th card of usryield, respectively ,and got differet results as follows:

USRYIELD 114. DOSE-EQ -64. SP4 VA2 1.Pho6
USRYIELD 0.8 0.0 5. 0.01 0.0 3.&
AUXSCORE USRYIELD PHOTON Pho6 Pho6 EWT74

  0.6400000 0.8000000 0.000000 0.000000

I also compared the results using usryield with those using usrbin and found the results using usryield with what(6)=3 was almost equal to the mesh results using usrbin. However,

I think What(6)=6 in Fluka manual of usryield means flux and What(6)=3 for particle current. so I can not explain the results I got and wonder if there is something wrong in code or manual ?

Thank you very much!

Bo Yang

Dear Bo Yang,

I saw that you modified your old problem with high energy electrons, and you followed the suggestions given by Francesco in

http://www.fluka.org/web_archive/earchive/new-fluka-discuss/7866.html

Think that now your problem is different! You have a 10 MeV electron beam and your low-energy shower is laterally contained quite well in your tantalum target, with has a radius equal to its length (~3 mm).

You can see very well this by adding for example a USRBIN card and scoring the DOSE-EQ (or simply the particle fluence) around the target, in the R-z plane. I suggest you to do it as exercise, in order to understand your angular distribution. In addition ,maybe you can use finer angular bins.

Regards,

Anna

Betreff: [fluka-discuss]: USRYIELD

Dear Fluka users,

I have a small question using usyield. I tried to use usryield to score photon dose at different polar angles under the condition of 10MeV electron hitting high-Z target. But except at 0 degree ,the results at other angles shows 0.

my input file and results are attached. So I wonder if usryield can be used to score the angular dose distribution or something else in my input files is not corrected. Actually I want to study the angular dose distribution around the target.

If usryield can not do it , are there any other practical methods? Thank you very much.
